Club Information

The Kawartha Durham Kart Club moved to their new home track in the spring of 2009 at Kawartha Downs and Speedway, Fraserville, Ontario (south west of Peterborough). Formerly known as the Mosport Kart Club, this independent club - created, organized and run by volunteers, has always been focused on providing a fun, safe and family oriented yet highly competitive environment for hobbyists and budding race stars alike. Created in 1996, the Mosport Kart Club has hosted many club, regional, national and international events including the Sunoco Ron Fellows, the Canadian Nationals and a North American Karting Championship Race in 1998 as established with CIK-FIA which was a race for karters to qualify for the World Karting Championships at Monte Carlo, Italy and / or at Urgento, Italy.

Since then, many racing superstars are have been members of the club including current DD2 Canadian champion Darren White, Formula Ford standout Caitlin Johnston, and A1 GP race winner, Red Bull driver – Robbie Wickens who began his racing kart career with the club.

The Kawartha Durham Kart Club organizes a series of championship races for kart racers ages 8 and up in several classes determined by age, weight and engine type. It’s easy to join and all are welcome. Refer to our FAQ section for more info. The best way to enjoy 100km/h is at 1” above the ground on the fast straights and high banking of Kawartha Downs and Speedway.
